The world is changing at a greater and unimaginable pace.

Your favorite and pet Internet is hardly a few years (decades) old and it has changed entirely the way we people live in this world.

Before the Internet era, things did not change much.  Life was pretty much the same.  

During earlier period,  prior & after,  invention of Electricity, Radio, Telephone, Pager etc,  they  did change the civilization for the better, but it happened over a long period of time.  

Nothing like what's happening right now with the Internet.

When People carried out their business in the olden times they did pretty much the same thing for a long period of time.  Some business grew rapidly and some failed.  But businesses were not under the threat of closing down. There was no necessity to learn new skills all the time.  Learning new skills was a luxury.

But not any more.

Today we live in a world where everyone is connected. Its a level playing field and competition is at its all time peak. If one is in large hi-profile business, he will face immense competition from some unknown countries, the names of which one would not have heard of.

Being the best in what one does is not an option any more.  Its the basic requirement for one's survival, either in the business one runs or to thrive in one's career.  And for the best part is that we have the resources at our finger tips if we want to learn and grow.

For the first time ever, any knowledge that one want is accessible.

Books, ebooks, courses, podcasts, workshops, free blog posts on various topics, free videos, free reviews on any product, the list goes on and on.  All one need to do is make a choice to learn.

As one improve his skills and become good at something, you will enjoy doing it more, one is sure.

When one enjoy doing his work, he  will become experienced and the competition will find it harder to catch up with you.

Until you make LEARNING a daily habit, you might have some friction.  Once you build a daily habit of learning something new, it becomes almost addictive. As you get into the positive spiral you will become unstoppable.  Competition will not worry you anymore.

We live in a knowledge economy.  The only leverage you have compared to your competition is what you know.

If you are an entrepreneur, it is very easy to get lost in the daily grind.  If one does not invest time in upgrading himself, it only makes things more tough in the long run.

As an entrepreneur, one will be working so hard the entire weekend and yet will have pending tasks in TO DO  list.  In such a situation, learning new skills might look like a luxury, one cannot afford right now at that time. But please keep in mind, LEARNING IS NOT AN OPTION ANYMORE.

One has to find out a way to learn something everyday.  Learning something new takes a lot of willpower. It is going to burn into the limited will power reserves one has. Learning has to become a habit by itself.

When one learn something every day. the knowledge compounds over time. The brain has an amazing capacity to remember things.  

Just like one does not remember what food he or she ate one week ago, one might feel like not remembering much from the book one had read or the video course one got enrolled a month ago. 

What one eat makes what one is today and so does learning new things.

The No.1 goal of learning is not to memorize facts and figures, but to change one's behavior. When one learns new things, one's belief system changes. one's action changes. When actions change, one's results change.  One's results change the person's reality, status, sustenance in every parameter, etc.,

Also Learning New Skills triggers change in one's personal and professional life for the better.

So Learn something every day. Make  it a Habit. Form a habit around learning something new every day.

One can listen to Podcast while driving or working out in the gym.  Read a book on a week end and make it habitual every day. Subscribe to useful Online educational courses suiting to the business, career and growth, whenever one finds free time and it is essential and it will happen that once one gets hooked to the habit of learning, it will become a daily ritual, come what may,  as the mind becomes disciplined and takes full charge of the person.

To conclude, Never hesitate to invest time and money in learning something new.  It usually has the maximum Return of Investment, ROI in one's business, compared to all the other channels of investment.

Apart from oneself,  invest time and money in one's team as well. And learn with the team.
